Th e creep who accosted a woman in a Sunnyside apartment building early on the morning of Sunday, March 12, is also accused of groping a customer at a nearby supermarket just minutes before the attack, according to police. Police released on March 21 a video of the male suspect as he pinched the backside of a female customer at the Food Universe supermarket at 44-07 43rd Ave. at 12:20 a.m. on March 12. A second video shows the same man 10 minutes later accosting a woman who fought off his advances inside a nearby apartment building. In the fi rst incident, authorities said, the perpetrator — described as a Hispanic male standing 5 foot 5 inches tall with brown eyes and brown hair wearing a black jacket, blue pants and black shoes — walked up to a 39-year-old woman in the frozen foods section of the Food Universe and engaged her in a brief conversation. Security camera footage taken at the supermarket shows the suspect grabbing the woman’s buttocks as he walked away. Law enforcement sources said the suspect then followed a 28-year-old woman into an apartment house in the area of 43rd Avenue and 42nd Street at about 12:30 a.m. He approached her near a stairwell, then pushed the woman against the wall and placed his hand over her mouth in an attempt to stop her from screaming. As the second video shows, the victim managed to swing her arm and pushed back the perpetrator, who ran off . Police said he was last seen walking southbound on 42nd Street. Th e incidents reported to the 108th Precinct; neither victim was injured. All calls and messages are kept confi dential. 109th Precinct College Point, Flushing, Whitestone Man tosses girlfriend’s dog off Flushing roof Police are looking for a man who allegedly threw his girlfriend’s dog from the balcony of a Flushing apartment building during a dispute last week. On Friday, March 17, at approximately 7:30 p.m. at an apartment building on 40th Road and Prince Street, the 35-yearold suspect grabbed his girlfriend’s dog during an argument and threw it from her seventh-fl oor balcony, police said. Th e man then walked downstairs, picked up the dead dog and fl ed the scene on foot. Th e incident was reported to the 109th Precinct. Police could not provide a description of the suspect at this time. Th e investigation is ongoing. All calls and messages are kept confi dential. 115th Precinct Corona, East Elmhurst, Jackson Heights L.I. man arrested for attacking transgender women A Long Island man beat two transgender women and shouted anti-gay slurs at them as they tried to walk into a McDonald’s in Jackson Heights on St. Patrick’s Day, according to police. Th e two victims tried to enter the fastfood restaurant on 82nd Street at about 4:30 p.m. on March 17 when Patrick O’Meara, 38, began shouting at them, police said. O’Meara, who was drunk, called the women “b–ches” and “f-ggots,” punched one of the victims in the face and kicked another to the ground. O’Meara fl ed the scene and came back with a cane, according to police, which he used to strike one of the victims. She tried to block her attacker with her left hand and suff ered a laceration. Th e other victim also suff ered an ankle injury aft er being pushed down. Th e women were taken to Forest Hills Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the NYPD. He was charged with a hate crime, second-degree assault and injury with a weapon. O’Meara has a lengthy crime sheet and was arrested nine times. Most recently, he stole a Volvo in Manhattan while he was drunk and was charged with grand larceny auto and driving while intoxicated, a spokesperson for the NYPD said. Make the Road New York (MRNY), an immigrant advocacy group, released a statement aft er the attack saying they were “horrifi ed” by the news. “We condemn this brutal hate attack and stand in solidarity with the survivors,” said Bianey García, LGBTQ Justice organizer of MRNY. “We are horrifi ed that transgender individuals in our community have suff ered yet another hate attack. Transgender immigrant women like me are part of the heart and soul of our Jackson Heights, and we will not stand idly by as our community faces discrimination and violence. We will continue to organize in our communities and send the message that Jackson Heights and New York City must welcome and embrace all of us, and that hate has no place in our neighborhood and our city.” In November 2015, a transgender woman was attacked while walking home in Jackson Heights. Several organizations, including MRNY and the NYC Human Rights Commission, held a rally in the neighborhood to condemn the attack. Bayside man booked for Flushing sex assault Detectives have charged a Bayside man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 29-year-old woman while he was getting a massage at a Flushing beauty salon earlier this month. Charlie J. Yu, 41, was taken into custody at noon on March 16 at his home on 209th Street as a result of an investigation into the attack that took place at 4 a.m. on March 9 inside a salon on 164th Street. Law enforcement sources said Yu was getting a massage at the location when he became engaged in a dispute with the female victim. He’s accused of punching the woman about the face and body, then sexually assaulting her before fl eeing the scene. Th e incident was reported to the 109th Precinct; the victim was taken to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition. Yu was charged with attempted rape, strangulation, criminal sexual act, forcible touching, assault and sex abuse.
