Good fundraising is all about cultivating relationships to build deep connections. This twopart interactive workshop with fundraising consultant Dara Silverman is designed to help participants learn how to strengthen and grow their base of individual relationships for themselves, their arts organization, or art project, today and for years to come. For more information call 212-639-9675 THRU APRIL 13 Long Island City’s Dance Entropy presents the eighth annual Green Space Blooms, a Queens celebration of new dance and music. In response to the growing community of choreographers and dance artists in Queens and a lack of a specifi c Queens borough dance festival, Dance Entropy inaugurated the Green Space Blooms Dance Festival in April 2007. Growing each year, the eighth annual Green Space Blooms will feature 28 diverse choreographers, as well as resident company Valerie Green/ Dance Entropy. The festival will take place on April 10-13 at 8 p.m. Admission is $15 for presale tickets, and $20 at the door. Green Space is located at 37-24 24th Street, Suite 301, LIC. SUNDAY, APRIL 13 Dora, her best buddy Boots the Monkey, and the rest of their friends embark on an exciting trip to Treasure Island at Queensborough Performing Arts Center (QPAC). Along the way, the audience will use their map-reading, counting, musical and language skills to successfully help Dora reach the treasure. All ends happily onstage with a “yo-ho-ho!” The performance runs for one hour and is followed by a meet-and-greet with the cast. ON VIEW MARCH 21-JUNE 15 The San-Francisco-based artist Jim Campbell born in 1956 is best known for his evocative low resolution works—is the subject of a major solo exhibition at the Museum, spanning his 30-year career and featuring over 20 installations. The works range from early experimental fi lm, interactive works, and low-resolution videos to large-scale sculptural installations. An innovator in the use of technology, Campbell integrates and manipulates computers and custom electronics into visually arresting artworks. MONDAY, APRIL 14 The Queens Botanical Garden (QBG) will be hosting The Master Composter Certifi cate Course, a wonderful way to become more involved in the composting community in Queens and to share your love for composting with others! You will gain a deeper understanding of composting in NYC and support in creating a compost-related project of your design.
