be “Imitation of Life” starring

about a struggling widow
and her daughter take in a
black housekeeper and her
fair-skinned daughter. The
two women then start a successful
business, but identity
and racial issues challenge
the two women along
the way. The screening is free
and will be from 2 to 4 p.m.

At noon on Saturday, Feb. 10, the St. John’s Red Storm Men’s Basketball team will
face off against BIG EAST Conference foe, the Marquette Golden Eagles. The Red
Storm, lead by head coach Chris Mullin, will look to get a huge conference victory
against Marquette. Freshman sensation Shamorie Ponds has performed multiple
must-watch performances this season. You cannot miss out on a game like this.

Learning (JCAL) is hosting
a number of events during
its fourth annual Black
History Month Celebration
Series. On Friday, Feb. 9,
JCAL will be screening the
film “Finding Samuel Lowe.”
The film is about three successful
black siblings from
Harlem who search for clues
regarding their long-lost
grandfather, Samuel Lowe.
The event is free and will
begin at 7:30 p.m. at 161-

Campbell Brothers
perform high-energy
rhythm gospel music at
Flushing Town Hall. Chuck
Campbell, along with his
brothers Darick and Phil, will

Carlton will also be playing
the drums. Regular admission

Box Brown. Witness the true
story of an 1850s Virginia
slave who shipped himself to

8 The Sunrise Kingdom
visual arts event
comes to Queens Museum
(New York City Building,
Flushing Meadows Corona
Park) featuring a pop-up
exhibition, performances,
film, fashion, dance and
independent vendors. This
will be the third edition of
the Sunrise Kingdom. The
main purpose of the show
is to celebrate the world of
black arts and to give artists
the opportunity to network.
The event is free, but there is
a suggested $5 donation to
provide supplies to the victims
of the Bronx fire from
a few weeks ago. The event
will take place from 5:30 to
9:30 p.m. and will also be
an all-black attire event. For
