H LYLE SCLAIR Executive Director Bayside Village BID Lyle Sclair, the executive director of the Bayside Village Business Improvement District (BID), represents over 400 businesses, landlords and residents along Bell JENNIFER Boulevard. Since taking the position in 2012, Mr. Sclair has signifi cantly expanded the impact of the Bayside Village BID. Mr. Sclair has created programs that have engaged thousands of Bayside residents including the Sunday Stroll, Halloween Family Festival, and the Bell Boulevard Holiday Parade and Lighting Ceremony. A tireless advocate for small businesses, he has fought with the NYC Mayor’s Offi ce of Film, Theater & Broadcasting to minimize the impact from TV shoots on Bell Boulevard’s “mom and pop” businesses. Mr. Sclair is currently leading the charge to transform the current NYC DOT parking lot into a parking structure to meet the needs of residents, businesses and commuters. Mr. Sclair has a masters in urban planning from New York University and bachelor of science in engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He shares this award with his wonderful and supportive wife Talia and his children Gabriella and Elliot. Smith is Community Development Offi cer for the New York region of Investors Bank: a full-service, community-focused retail, commercial and small business bank headquartered in Short Hills, New Jersey. Jennifer is based at Investors Bank’s New York Headquarters at 81 Court Street in Brooklyn. As Community Development Offi cer, Jennifer supports Investors Bank’s network of branches in Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Staten Island and Long Island through development of community relations. Since 2013, Jennifer has spearheaded the development of the Investors Bank The Art of Thriving Queens Not-for- Profi t Conference in partnership with the Queens-Courier. Prior to joining Investors Bank, Jennifer served as Walk/Events Director at Autism Speaks, the world’s leading nonprofi t organization for autism science and advocacy. Under Jennifer’s leadership, the organization’s fi rst Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania Walk Now for Autism Speaks was established in 2007 and has grown to become the largest charity walk-athon in the region. She brings her experience and dedication to the nonprofi t sector to her role with Investors Bank’s growing community development initiative. Jennifer recently joined the board of the Brooklyn Arts Council. Jennifer earned an M.S. in Nonprofit Management from the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy at The New School for Public Engagement. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Psychology, with a minor in Art History. Her past employers include Unique Homes Magazine, where she was a writer and advertising production manager, and the Morris- Union Jointure Commission in New Jersey, where she was a teacher’s assistant working with students with autism.
