Hazel and Jerry Shane are long time members of the North Shore Towers community, Hazel a fundraiser for the NST Migdal Hadassah Chapter as well as being named Woman of the Year. The late Jerry Shane the founder and leader of the North Shore Towers Orchestra for many years. “I was sitting on my sofa reflecting, and I knew that I wanted to do something for my mother and my sister that was very personal and very meaningful,” recalls Daniel. “I wasn’t thinking about the monetary value, but rather of something that would be a remembrance of my father.” In a flash of inspiration, Daniel had the idea to craft a memory pillow out of his father’s old ties. When Daniel presented the pillows to his mother and sister, he saw how meaningful a gift it was and decided to make the service available to others seeking to preserve memories.
