16 North Shore Towers Courier n May 2014 Naomi Zeitlin – enchanteuse BY VICTOR G. MIMONI Once again this spring, Naomi Zeitlin graced the VIP room of the North Shore Towers Country Club with an enchanting evening of Broadway tunes and American standards, accompanied by her sound engineer and sometime dance partner, husband Randy. The duo filled the VIP room with music on the evening of Wednesday, April 16, much to the delight of the more than a score of residents in attendance. Naomi initially performed “as a solo act and in several duos and trios as a singer-guitarist before I got hooked by the theater bug.” During a 12-year career in regional and community theatre productions which included roles such as Golde in “fiddler on the Roof”), Aldonza in “Man of La Mancha”), Vera Charles in “Mame”) and Nettie Fowler in “Carousel,” she also played Bella in “Lost in Yonkers”) and Mrs. Van Daan in “The Diary of Anne Frank” and was a member of two different Cabaret groups. According to Zeitlin, “I have been concentrating exclusively on my solo act since April of 2005, and have found it to be a true labor of love.” It’s easy to see the love is shared by her hubby Randy, and with the audience.
