PICKING GUIDE
What better way to start the fall
season than to pick the perfect
pumpkin at a local patch?
“I’m really excited that there’s
some twists and turns in the
season with the weather and it appears
this is the best crop I’ve ever
had in my life,” said Jim Stakey,
owner and operator of Stakey’s
pumpkin patch in Aquebogue for
over 40 years. “I started in 1976
at 15...and this appears to be the
best crop—if it’s not the best it’s
certainly one of the best.”
