Sorriso, meaning “smile” in Italian,
aims to cheer you up with a meal.
The restaurant is owned by Pietro and
Vania Grippi, who are also known for
running Pietro's Brick Oven Pizzeria in
Oyster Bay. Their new restaurant is old
school with a modern flair, having many
unique features including a wood-fired
oven straight from Italy.
Savor their 12-inch pizza, including the
campagnola, with crumbled sausage,
sun-dried tomatoes, broccoli rabe,
fresh mozzarella, garlic, and oil ($15).
Also available are a multitude of pastas
and other entrees such as the penne
romanza ($22).

A Latin-oriented eatery with a vegan
and gluten-free friendship, The Purple
Elephant boasts fresh non-GMO cuisine
and the alluring indoor/outdoor scenery
of the Britannia Yachting Center.
Since its inception, the restaurant has
emphasized using the most trusted
sources possible. Menus are updated
daily to ensure the purest organic
ingredients.
Patrons can satiate their palates in
vegan assortments such as the organic
burnt ends enchiladas ($23) and the
stuffed spaghetti squash ($22). There
are also a variety of gluten-free and
non-vegan options including the casado
platter ($20-32) and taco truck menu. A
clean cocktail menu is served as well.
