In the “EAF13: 2013 Emerging Artist Fellowship Exhibition,” 15 new emerging artists display their unique artworks that respond to the park’s unique waterfront and urban environment. Local and global subjects are presented alongside one another, with topics such as the history, ecology, and panorama of the park confronting broader topics of international politics, militarization, and culture. Her signature style of art is created by pulling a string of a cloth by hand. Her technique was infl uenced by the memory of her playing with a needle, cloth, and thread in her grandmother’s knitting shop. Taniguchi’s works are inspired by landscapes, surroundings, and everything she experiences around her.
