A pap test, also known as a pap
smear, is a method used by
gynecologists in which cells are
collected from a woman’s cervix
to test for potentially cancerous
and precancerous cells.
Cervical cancer is one of the leading
causes of death in women today.
It has been on the rise in the US in
the last few years. It is advised that
all sexually active women should
get annual check ups at the very
least. The frequency of Pap tests
may vary from every 3 to 5 years
depending on your risk.
