FROM THE EDITOR
Are you ready to welcome in Fall, LIC
Courier readers?
As the weather cools, hundreds of students
will make their way back to school
and we’ve rounded up a list of new and
established preschools that provide your
little ones with a quality education.
We also highlight an organization that
is providing public school teachers with a
truckload of free supplies. Materials for the
Arts in Long Island City allows educators
to pick up free supplies from their 40-aisle
warehouse! Make an appointment today to
peruse the space.
Astorians can now take the ferry to work,
school or for recreational purposes. We
took the first ferry ride at 6:30 a.m. and
spoke to residents whose commutes are
made easier thanks to this new method of
transportation.
A longtime Sunnyside resident creates
delicious frozen treats with local ingredients
and we have the scoop on her business —
Bliss Street Creamery.
We also profile an Astoria resident who
started a podcast called "Actsiders." She
interviews actors who moved to America
to break into the industry.
You’ll hear from Hyobin Chung, a toymaker
and designer who works at Long Island
City’s Sugarcube. The bakery, founded by
an architect, creates 3D chocolate molds
with designs created by Chung.
Stay up-to-date with the latest in real
estate and plan your weekend with our
events and art calendars.
As always, feel free to reach out to
amatua@qns.com with any tips!
