45 advertorials BEAUTY TIPS Beauty from the inside It is offi cial, summer is over. I realized it when we were taking our Maxime to Gantry Park and found the sprinklers were shut down. Now we are getting ready for those beautiful NYC fall days which we will hopefully have and not just turn into one of New York’s brutal winters. On that note, I would like to share with you a new ritual I have made to prepare my body for the change of seasons. I always get a little sluggish in the summer as I am not a hot and humid person. My body has just never agreed with that climate unless I was sitting on the beach having a drink with a small umbrella attached. I am defi nitely more of a fall girl! I especially love the beauty of the fall’s colors and cool nights. So my friend Mamma Gianna and I did a 21 day detox cleansing diet last month. It was full of supplements, fruits and veggies. We started the diet with high hopes of getting into our jeans for the fall. It was really intense, very regimented, and at times highly stressful. We were not allowed any meat, cheese, coffee, alcohol and limited carbohydrates. Can you imagine a chef and a lad y married to a real Parisian having to cut out these foods totally? Indeed challenging. With the support of our friends and families, we made it and we feel and look great. As an esthetician I always have known that foods play such an essential role in how our skin looks, but I have never practiced such a diet and never had so many compliments on how my skin looks. In fact, our landlord, the nicest lady in LIC, kept commenting on the way my energy was changing during the course of the diet. She was right, because my mood was stable and I felt like I could accomplish anything. I have thought about these changes during the times I was treating my clients and it is astonishing how your diet is written all over your face. After all, beauty starts from inside and works its way out. So my advice for a great fall: be conscientious of what you put into your body. Maybe try a cleanse of some sort, whatever works for what your body needs. Learn to listen to what your body is saying, it is always talking to you. Try new foods like steamed Kale! And try not to take advantage of SECONDS. You will look and feel great - and your skin will also be happy. Au revoir and happy fall!! The Cosmetical Junkie and her Voice of Reason: Angelena and Benjamin Lucheux, owners of Tailormade for You Institute for Face and Body Imagine a single place where you have the opportunity to mingle with individuals from across the globe, sharing stories of backgrounds, cultures and traditions, where each and every person is genuinely interested in what the other has to say. Imagine having a different houseguest each and every night, sharing meals, exchanging recipes and experiences. This isn’t an imagination, this is a day in the life at the Z NYC Hotel. It’s the conversations between our hotel staff and guests that defi ne the Z NYC Hotel. From our bellman, Sam, sharing his favorite restaurants to our front desk associate, Renita, sharing her favorite must see museums, the hotel takes pride in providing a home away from home environment to every guest that walks through the door. But if you’re missing home, you can always pick up the phone to connect with complimentary local, long distance and international calling. With complimentary transportation to and from Manhattan, it’s simple to explore all fi ve New York City boroughs but after an adventurous day, guests always retreat back to the hotel to share their stories with our hotel staff. Our bartender, Derek, and our hostess, Stephanie, are always on hand to listen and interject with memorable experiences of their own. Before long, they are engaged in a deep conversation and the couple from Brazil and the business person from Denmark feel right at home as if they are sitting in their own living room. They soon forget that they are lounging in the Z Restaurant and Lounge, recapping their day with their new family and friends, sipping on delectable cocktails and enjoying light bites. In this very moment, there is no place they’d rather be. What I love about our business is that we have the ability to transport a guest from a strange and new environment to a comfortable one with just the right combination of care and hospitality. I’m in awe every day of the power that I have to make this happen. I pride myself in my work constantly making it a goal to exceed expectations and if I have not, I have not fulfi lled my commitment to the hospitality industry and the Z NYC Hotel. At the end of a long day, I head up to our breathtaking Z Roof and I immediately spot a guest enjoying the panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline. I then turn to see a couple gaze into each other’s eyes while sipping on champagne. A smile comes over me and I wonder, did they book our Naughty Package? I sure hope so!
