A new three-building development on
Jackson Avenue in Long Island City is
promising an amenity-filled complex to
potential tenants.
Jackson Park will consist of more than
1,800 apartments and 120,000-square-feet
of amenities including a 1.6-acre park only
for tenants. The Tishman Speyer develop-ments
will stand 42,44, and 53 stories high.
The towers will include “a variety of
apartment types and floor plans for every
lifestyle” and will span an entire city block.
In addition to the three towers, a five-story
“amenity clubhouse” with an outdoor pool.
The 45,000-square-foot building will have
underground access to all three apartment
towers.
“In keeping with our tradition of creat-ing
sophisticated living and dynamic work
environments in the world’s top markets,
Jackson Park is destined to become Long
Island City’s most desirable address” said
Rob Speyer, CEO of Tishman Speyer in a
statement. “Tishman Speyer is a pioneer
in Long Island City, which has established
itself as New York’s most dynamic and
sought-after neighborhood. We are ex-cited
to deliver a truly 24/7 community
where New Yorkers can live, work and play,
complete with best-in-class amenities and
convenient access to everything New York
has to offer.”
According to a real estate report, Long
Island City saw the biggest rental construc-tion
boom from 2010 through 2016. Long
Island City topped the list of 50 neighbor-hoods
with the most new rentals from 2010
through 2016 and greatly surpassed the
next neighborhood on the list, Downtown
Los Angeles. During that six-year time pe-riod,
the neighborhood saw 12,533 new
units and 41 new apartment buildings being
constructed.
Jackson Park is located across the street
from another Tishman Speyer development,
the JACX. It consists of two 26-story tow-ers
and 1.2 million-square-feet of office
and retail space and a 1-acre landscaped
terrace. The co-working company WeWork
is leasing space there along with other
fashion and retail companies.
A gourmet market, food hall, coffee shop,
restaurants and boutique fitness spaces
are also also planned for the development.
Leasing at Jackson Park will begin in
fall 2017 and Tishman Speyer anticipates
tenants in the first building will move in by
the end of this year.
