“Poem of the Earth: From Ego to Eco - An
intergenerational exhibition of Ecopoetic Art”
On view through April 5, 2020
This exhibit investigates the themes of time, cycle and
human nature. “It aspires to pause visitors in their
daily rush and ground them in the present, at least for
a fleeting moment, to appreciate a deeper connection
with the natural world.” The exhibit's name comes
from the Walt Whitman poem The Voice of the Rain
from his anthology “Leaves of Grass.” It is curated by
Nadine Braquetti with art by Furen Dai, Lena Miskulin,
Steven Siegel, Alan Sonifest and Erin Turner.

“In Practice: Total Disbelief”
On view through March 23, 2020
“In Practice: Total Disbelief” employs “dimensions
of doubt” as each piece explores how it contributes
to the formation of social life. Viewers tangle with
an active engagement with disbelief as well as other
emotions like astonishment, navigating defense
mechanisms and “pitting skepticism against a real
desire to be convinced and to know.” The exhibit
features works by Qais Assali, Andrew Cannon, Jesse
Chun, Hadi Fallahpisheh, Ficus Interfaith, Emilie
Louise Gossiaux, Laurie Kang, Devin Kenny and Andrea
Solstad, K.R.M. Mooney, sidony o’neal, Mariana Silva,
Jordan Strafer and Andrew Norman Wilson.

“Envisioning 2001: Stanley Kubrick's Space
Odyssey”
On view through July 19, 2020
Stanley Kubrick directed “2001: A Space Odyssey”
in 1968 along with writer Arthur C. Clark. The film
examines “the fraught relationship between humanity
and technology” all while using new and innovative
special effects. This six-month exhibit includes
original artifacts from the Stanley Kubrick Archive
at the University of the Arts London and from the
Museum’s personal collection. Through the exhibit,
viewers will discover the director’s influences,
research and “innovative production process.”
