They also think we’ve gotten way too much rain. But rain, wind, sleet, snow, sun or any other weather condition does not stop our fantastic, wonderful, unbelievable volunteers from feeding them every day. Our felines are very lucky to have some of the most wonderfully purrrfect volunteers around. And many of them do not live at LeHavre. Le Cats on the Water held our fi rst Brunch with Le Cats fundraiser on Sunday, June 9. It was a sellout. This fundraiser was hosted by Due Ponti Italian restaurant, located at 154-11 Powells Cove Boulevard. It was a marvelous day, so we were able to take advantage of the outside deck. The food was incredible (and new dishes kept coming throughout the whole brunch), as was the service. There was relaxing music, by a live pianist, throughout the afternoon. And for those of us who were daring, we had a tarot card reader to help us learn about our future. Neither Pam nor I was that brave. Many who did indulge were very pleased. Everyone who talked to Pam and me had a lovely, fun afternoon. The real winners of our Brunch with Le Cats are the outside cats. Through your most generous donations, more outside cats can be helped to live healthier and happier lives through T-N-R (trap-neuterreturn). Many are asking when our next event will be. Previously, everyone kept asking Pam and me when our next sale would be. But as people were leaving our brunch, a few people told me that they would prefer another brunch instead of a fl ea market. Hopefully, Le Cats on the Water will be having both types of fundraisers in the future. We need a week off and then we›ll start checking out venues again. All of our future events will be advertised. An elegant hair studio run by a mother and daughter who both studied in Europe. All their products are from Europe, so you are getting the top of the line. EXO Resturant located at 15-16 149th Street, Whitestone. Delicious Mediterranean food. Very pleasant atmosphere and service. Defi nitely a «let›s go again» place. Fairway located at 242-02 61st Avenue, Douglaston. Wonderful service and exceptional food, one of the very few places I›ll buy meats, fi sh and cheese. What a great selection. Their prices are usually very competitive to other stores. I haven›t tried it, but I›m told their prepared food section is great.
