Meet Danny Littell:
Le Havre’s New Clubhouse
Manager
Danny Littell will officially become the new manager
for the Le Havre Clubhouse this month, but he’s
no stranger to Le Havre. In fact, you may already
know him, since he’s been filling in periodically at
the Clubhouse desk for the past two years.
A native of Bayside, Danny joined Elite four years
ago and has previously worked at Windsor Park,
Water’s Edge and, most recently, at one of Elite’s
properties in Manhattan. Fun fact: Years ago, Danny
was a pool gate guard at the Water’s Edge pool. One
of the kids at the pool was none other than Michael
Zuchelli, who grew up to be co-founder of Elite (in
other words, one of Danny’s bosses). Danny now
advises everyone, “Be nice to the kids, because you
never know!”
Danny made the career switch to amenities management
after working in the retail industry for nearly
20 years, and he likes his new direction a lot more.
“This work is a lot more interesting,” Danny said. “I
especially like the upkeep of the facilities and pools,
and there’s something different with the people every
day.”
But wait, what about Nick? Nick Santo has been
the Clubhouse Manager since Le Havre first signed
on with Elite. While the bad news is that Nick won’t
be at the Clubhouse every day, the good news is
that he didn’t leave Elite. Nick has been promoted,
and among his responsibilities is to oversee Elite’s
managers, which includes making sure that things
continue to run smoothly at Le Havre.
He is especially happy that Danny was tapped to
take over the day-to-day management of Le Havre’s
amenities. “He’s a great guy,” Nick said, “and
someone I know. I’m leaving the Clubhouse in good
hands.”
As for Danny, he looks like a happy camper. He
grinned, “I’m really looking forward to meeting all
the residents and having a fantastic summer.” Clubhouse Manager Danny Littell
Darkest Hour
Friday, May 11, 3pm and 7pm
Within days of becoming Prime
Minister of the United Kingdom,
Winston Churchill (Oscar winner
Gary Oldman) must face one of his
most turbulent and defining trials:
exploring a negotiated peace treaty
with Nazi Germany, or continuing
the war. As the unstoppable Nazi
forces roll across Western Europe
and the threat of invasion appears
to be imminent, and with an unprepared
public, a skeptical King,
and his own party plotting against
him, Churchill must withstand his
darkest hour, rally a nation, and
attempt to change the course of
world history. (Focus Features)
Rated PG-13
Director: Joe Wright
Writer: Anthony McCarten
Cast: Gary Oldman, Lily James, Kristin Scott Thomas
“Set during the crucial early days of Winston Churchill’s first term as
prime minister, this talky yet stunningly cinematic history lesson balances
the great orator’s public triumphs with more vulnerable private moments
of self-doubt, elevating the inner workings of British government into a
compelling piece of populist entertainment…Hidden behind fake jowls and
a receding hairline, Gary Oldman delivers one of the great performances of
his career…” – Peter Debruge, Variety
All the Money in
the World
Friday, May 18, 3pm and 7pm
Rome, 1973: Masked men kidnap a teenage
boy named John Paul Getty III. His
grandfather, J. Paul Getty (Christopher
Plummer), is the richest human in the world,
but he’s notoriously miserly. His favorite
grandson’s abduction is not reason enough
for him to part with any of his fortune. Gail,
(Michelle Williams), Paul’s devoted, strongwilled
mother, unlike Getty, has consistently
chosen her children over his fortune. Her
son’s life in the balance with time running
out, she attempts to sway Getty even as
her son’s mob captors become increasingly
more determined, volatile and brutal. When Getty sends his enigmatic security
man Fletcher Chace (Mark Wahlberg) to look after his interests, he and
Gail become unlikely allies in this race against time that ultimately reveals
the true and lasting value of love over money. (Sony Pictures) Rated R
Director: Ridley Scott
Writers: David Scarpa, John Pearson
Cast: Michelle Williams, Christopher Plummer, Mark Wahlberg
“Mr. Scott conjures up entire worlds and sensibilities with visual precision,
adding detail even when going for sweep. Each new scene adds another
layer of meaning, thickening the slow-building sense of dread…Mr. Plummer
creates a rapacious man whose hunger for wealth and power (and more
money, always more) has hollowed him out…It’s a magnificent portrait of
self-annihilation.” – Manhola Dargis, The New York times
