N E W S MARCH 14 L E H A V R E Le Cats Update Dear LeHavrians and Friends, Le Cats on the Water thanks everyo ne who came to our Valentine›s Day Sale/Baked Goods/Raffl e on Sunday, February 10.In spite of Nemo (who I had always thought was a cute little fi sh) those supporters of Le Cats on the Water who did come down to the clubhouse had a purrrfect time. They had room to walk around and not feel crowded. They purchased merchandise and scrumptious baked goods, checked out our 47 raffl e gifts and were treated to coffee thanks to the cats. Hopefully, they had a great time. Our fundraiser donated 5% ($100) of our proceeds to Pet Safe Coalition, Inc. to aid in the mission of helping animals involved in disasters. This group is the fi rst one in and the last one to leave the area. All of the people involved are volunteers. They are doing a fantastic job in caring for these dogs and cats that have been left there while the caregivers try to rebuild after Sandy or try to fi nd housing that allows them to keep their pets. As always, Pam and I ask you to patronize the merchants listed below who have shown that they support T-N-R (trap-neuter-return) of outside cats. And please, let them know you are grateful that they support Le Cats on the Water. Logan’s Cafe located right here in LeHavre on the Water›s clubhouse. I have plans to meet some of my friends at Logan›s Cafe for breakfast. Most of us are looking forward to having a place right here in our clubhouse where we can have a meal or just have coffee with our friends. Best of luck Logan and crew! Hope to see you all there. Sunshine Spa & Hair located at 152- 67 10th Avenue, Whitestone. That’s in the Waldbaum’s shopping center, so it is very convenient. Some can even walk there. Hair on 14th located at 11-23 154th Street, Whitestone. Many of my friends love this place. Lee›s Jewelers located at 153-77A Cross Island Parkway, Whitestone. This jeweler is great for all your needs. They made up two special order 14K gold pieces for me that were purrrfect even though they were not cats. Giorgio’s Salon and Spa located at 153-35 Cross Island Parkway, Whitestone. We are very fortunate to have all these great hair cutting salons. I know people who will only come here for their haircuts. One of our winners called me to rave about how accommodating they are. Linda Gendell call the clubhouse at 718 767-2277 for your personal fi tness guide right here in our gym. I hear she›s fantastic. Pizza Chef located at 153-81 Cross Island Parkway, Whitestone. A great family place to get a bite to eat. Utopia Bagels located at 19-09 Utopia Parkway, Whitestone. Unbeatable in quality of their bagels and lox. Riviera Ristorante located at 17-12 Utopia Parkway, Whitestone. I have not eaten here yet, but I hear from many, many people how fabulous the food is. Definitely a must on my list of places to eat. Clinton Restaurant located at 9-17 Clintonville Road, Whitestone. Another great place to come and relax while you eat great food. This is a favorite of Pam and her husband. Make sure it›s on your list to try. D o n a v a n ’ s Restaurant located at 214-16 41st Avenue, Bayside. Great food and decor. If you love burgers, this is definitely a place to go to. All their food is fresh and they have a free parking lot across the street for your convenience. Carvel located at 149-01 14th Avenue, Whitestone. Delicious ice cream. My family wouldn›t know it was their birthday if we didn›t have a Carvel Ice Cream cake for them. Pie Zannos Pizzeria located at 150-54 14th Avenue, Whitestone. Great pizza. We have them deliver all the time. Due Ponti Restaurant located at 154-11 Powells Cove Boulevard, Whitestone. We›ve been there twice since they have their new chief and the food was exceptional. A must go. Christie & Co. Salon & Spa located at 23-64 Bell Boulevard, Bayside. I was with my friend Carolyn who only has her hair done here. A woman stops her and had to know where she had her hair cut. That was just the cut that she had been trying to get and couldn›t. That says it all. EXO Greek Bistro located at 12-65 150th Street, Whitestone. A fabulous dining experience in Middle Eastern cuisine. If you haven›t tried it, a must on your list. Cozy Cats Pet Sitting Service call Pam at 718 757-0330.Many fantastic baskets. I’m told some people want these baskets to give as gifts, not for themselves, which means they’re great!!! When we’re out of town, I call Co-President Gloria Green of “Le Cats on the Water” Pam to care for my cats. I know they will be getting the best care, other than me of course, I could ask for. The care she gives to the cats she in charge of is incredible. I go away and miss my cats, but know they are in excellent care. Thank you Pam. We›re very lucky to live in an area where we have such wonderful choices of where to get our hair done, our nails done, and where to dine after or before we have visited our beauty spas. We may stick with one hairdresser or one nail place, but let›s try all the great eateries surrounding us .
