Mommy & Me at Le Havre
As a mother of a (recently turned) one year old, I cannot believe how time simply flies once you
have a child. I can’t seem to find the time (or the right place) to meet other parents like myself; a full
time working mom whose home schedule is dictated by meal and bedtime routines. Sure, I have the
once a week music class with my daughter, but I find that unfortunately most of the “Mommy and Me”
classes are held on weekdays. I then started thinking about the fact that I’ve lived in Le Havre going on
4 years, and have seen many families with young kids at the pool and walking around Fort Totten that I
would love to get to know in one place.
Lightbulb! Why not start a “Grownup and Me” group here at Le Havre, which has 32 buildings
(and I’m sure many parents who feel the exact same way as I do)?! The majority of the events could be
held on weekends to cater to the working parent who is desperately looking for accessible activities to
spend time with their child as well as meet other parents. Not only would our children then get to know
their potential future classmates, but also have friends who live close by making playdates much easier
for all!
Margaret suggested I write this article to reach out to the masses to see if there would be any
interest in creating such a group. It can range from gatherings in the Clubhouse on rainy days and pool
activities, to walks at Fort Totten, or even a brunch with the parents and kids to explore the great
restaurants our area has to offer. We could open it up to expectant mothers as well – as having a
network always makes transitions easier.
That being said, I’d love to hear from all of the interested parents including all feedback and
suggestions! Please feel free to email me at MommyAndMeLHOC@gmail.com as I’d love to get the ball
rolling and possibly set up a meeting to discuss further ideas. I look forward to hearing from you!

SWAP a SPOT!
Hello,
I live in building # 21 but my parking space is G17 in front of building # 9. I would like to find
someone who lives around G17 and has a parking space near my building including the big parking space
right next to tennis courts. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Jeagwan Lim – email: jeagwan.lim@gmail.com
