J A N U A R Y Toys for Tots 2021!
BY JILL DAVIS
Santa’s workshop had a new address on Sunday,
December 12, when Le Havre hosted its 31st annual
Toys for Tots fundraiser in the Clubhouse. Local
businesses once again donated generously, and Le
Havre residents joined in the fun to make this yet
another successful event.
As always, there was team spirit in the air. Le
Havre provided hot chocolate and cookies for everyone,
while Elite Amenity provided the arts and crafts
materials for the children, which included two ornaments
and, of course, the necessary letter to Santa.
And in what has become pretty much of a tradition
at each year’s Toys for Tots, Cascarino’s donated hot,
tasty pizzas. Naturally the children loved to sit with
Santa, whose helpers included Nick Santo and Italia
Parks from Elite and front desk assistant Libby.
Of course the Marines were once again ably represented,
this year by Sgt. Isaac Frantz and Cpl.
Fernando Flues, both based at Floyd Bennett Field
in Brooklyn. In case you’ve ever wondered where all
those toys go, Sgt. Frantz explained that he and Cpl.
Flues would be bringing them back to their base in
Brooklyn where they had already amassed approximately
40,000 toys for distribution to the various
charities that give out the toys to needy kids.
As always, the fundraiser was a great success and
surely gave lots of kids a very happy holiday! Thank
you everyone!
