Why Broome Street Academy ?
We are a diverse, equitable, inclusive community and safe
space with a focus on student voice.
We offer Eight Advanced Placement (AP) classes including
Science, English, Math, Computer Science, Psychology and
Social Studies.
We deploy a team of Special Educators, four SocialWorkers
and a School Counselor with effective strategies to support
students with IEPs, English Language Learners (ELL’s), and
students who just need a little extra help academically and
emotionally in the COVID-19 era.
We engage students with a strong Athletics program (with
championship basketball and volleyball teams !).
We employ students in our school-based paid Summer Youth
Employment (SYEP) andWork, Learn & Grow (WLG)
programs.
We feed our students with a nutritious food program with a
focus on delicious, healthy, and culturally diverse meals
prepared in-house by our chef.
Through our partnership with The Door we have direct access
to the Adolescent Health Center for medical and dental care,
SAT prep, college advisement, internships, counseling, legal
services & more.
We extend our day with a variety of after school club
offerings - and if a student can’t find a club that resonates
with them, they can propose one!
We serve and accept students from all five boroughs and
Yonkers.
