Thief pretends to have gun while
robbing Kips Bay restaurant: NYPD

As if restaurants
weren’t suffering
enough during the
COVID-19 pandemic, one
eatery in Kips Bay was held
up last week by a purportedly
armed robber, police
reported.
The NYPD released on
Sunday video footage of
the crook behind the Jan.
13 caper, which took place
at about 8 p.m. inside the
Kaylee restaurant at 115
East 27th St.
Law enforcement sources
said the crook walked
into the restaurant and approached
the counter, where
a 19-year-old man worked.
The suspect then moved
behind the counter and
confronted the worker while
feigning to have a weapon,
demanding property.

restaurant’s cash register,
valued at $400, exited
the store and fl ed in an
unknown direction.
The robbery was reported
to the 13th Precinct.
No one was injured.
Cops described the
suspect as a man between
20 and 30 years of age.

Mob of brutes wanted for pummeling man
with fists during East Village robbery

Cops released disturbing video of a
group of attackers who clobbered a
29-year-old man on an East Village
street and robbed him during a daytime
attack on Wednesday.
The incident happened at about 12:42
p.m. on Jan. 13 in the area of 1st Avenue
and East 3rd Street.
According to law enforcement sources,
the unidentifi ed group of individuals approached
and surrounded the victim, then
went on the attack.
Police said the brutes punched the man
multiple times about the body, then forcibly
removed his cellphone. A bystander took
video of the suspects while the assault was
in progress.
Following the attack, the group fl ed the
scene in an unknown direction.
Offi cers from the 9th Precinct and EMS
units responded to the scene. Paramedics
grey gloves, black pants and
red shoes while carrying a
white Museum of Modern
Art (MoMA) tote bag.

Cops seek shooter who gunned
down man in East Village

Detectives are investigating
a deadly
shooting in the
East Village on Monday
night.
NYPD received reports
of gunfire on East 3rd
Street and Avenue C in
Alphabet City just after
8:40 p.m. on Jan. 18. Offi
cers from the 9th Precinct
arrived on the scene to
discover a 36-year-old man
who had received a bullet
wound to the chest.
According to police
sources, the man — whose
name is yet to be released
— was rushed to Beth
Israel Hospital where he
was pronounced dead. The
incident occurred a mere
block away from a public
school.
Officials cordoned-off
the street by moving trash
cans into the roadway and
fastening caution tape between
the receptacle and
lamp posts.

Woman shot to death, man injured in
shooting at Harlem apartment building

Detectives are investigating a
double shooting inside the lobby
of a Harlem apartment building
on Saturday afternoon that left a 29-yearold
woman dead and a 26-year-old man
injured.
Cops said the shooting happened at
about 12:39 p.m. on Jan. 16 at 301 West
150th St., near Bradhurst Avenue and just
steps away from Jackie Robinson Park.
Offi cers from the 32nd Precinct responded
to a 911 call about the shooting
and found both victims wounded in the
lobby. The circumstances surrounding the
shooting are unknown at this time, authorities
reported.
Police said the woman sustained multiple
gunshot wounds to her chest and was unconscious
and unresponsive when police
arrived. Paramedics rushed her to Harlem

Deli, but it is currently
unclear if the shooting
occurred on the premises.
Insides detectives reviewed
security footage captured
by the convenience store’s
cameras. Across the street,
additional offi cers could
be seen inspecting the area
with fl ashlights.
Police say no arrests
have been made at this
time but they are actively
looking for three men who
reportedly fl ed the scene.
No descriptions have been
released. The investigation
is ongoing.

identity, pending family notifi cation.
Cops said the 26-year-old man was shot
in the torso and the left arm. EMS units
brought him to Harlem Hospital, where
he’s listed in stable condition.
Sources familiar with the investigation
stated that he was uncooperative with
detectives who questioned him about the
shooting. Police did not indicate whether
the two victims are related to each other.
No arrests have been made in the ongoing
investigation, law enforcement sources
said.
