NOBEMBER 11
Photo of the Month
Fall is in the air! Photo by Marsha Gellert
WWW.QNS.COM | NOVEMBER 2020 | CRYDER POINT COURIER 11
BY JILL DAVIS
Congrats to Marsha Gellert for November’s Photo of the Month of the beautiful display
in our courtyard (special credit goes to our gardeners at Queens Garden for putting
it together). Thanks also go to Helena Bergfeld and Patty Wise for their lovely pictures,
both taken just last month.
Please don’t let the autumn chill keep you from taking pictures. Fall is often a great
opportunity to capture the colors changing. The chance to catch them is often fleeting,
so have your phone or camera ready!
A reminder about the contest rules:
The photographer must be a resident of Cryder Point, and all photos must of the property
or of a view from the property. They also must be current, that is, taken no more
than a couple of months before you submit them.
Any description of where you were on the property, the day of week or time of day…
any details that you can provide which bring your neighbors into the moment of the
photo…are eagerly welcomed.
Submit your pictures to jdavis@qns.com and yours might be selected to be featured
in the paper. Please be sure to put “Cryder Point Photo” in the subject line of your email
and include the full name of the photographer and an approximate date of the picture.
Dining Diva
Shanghai You Garden
BY HELENE OELERICH
Shanghai You Garden was so popular in
Flushing they opened a second location on Bell
Blvd. in Bayside.
The restaurant offers delicious Chinese food
with a specialty in all kinds of flavorful dumplings.
The Garden special soup is especially good,
served with six dumplings: two each of shrimp
& pork; squash with shrimp and pork; and crabmeat and
pork! Yummy! There are many more choices plus lots of special dishes.
Diners also get a free appetizer (Phil and I love the Peking duck wrap).
Shanghai You Garden is located at 41-07 Bell Blvd. and is open daily from
9 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. Note: Shanghai You Garden is taking indoor dining
guidelines seriously; they have installed Plexiglas between each table and
seating is at least six feet apart. They’ve also upgraded their air filtration system
and installed an automatic temperature check machine at the entrance.
Of course if you’d rather eat at home, you can order for delivery or pickup.
Check out their website to see all of their delicious food at shanghaiyougardennyc.
