Calling All Cryder Point Cooks!
Th e Cryder Point Courier would
like you to share some of your favorite
holiday and winter recipes with
your neighbors.
We’ve done something like this
in the past, but it was limited to
Th anksgiving-oriented recipes. Th is
time, we’re broadening our horizons
(as well as our hips). In addition to
Th anksgiving, we’re looking for your
best creations for Hanukkah, Christmas
and New Year’s, or even something
for any cold winter’s day.
Please send your recipes to
jdavis@qns.com with your name (for
proper credit!) and contact info (in
case there are any questions). We’re
hoping to get a pile of submissions, and if so, they’ll be printed throughout
the upcoming fall and winter issues.
Th ank you!

Message from the Board President
It’s October, which means it’s sweater season. We all
hope we’ll get to enjoy the beauty of fall (yay!) despite
the shorter days (boo!). Oh well, what’re you going
to do?
As of this writing, repair work is underway to
stop the leaks and water in the 01 basement that
have plagued the building for so long. Hopefully it
will be completed by the time you’re reading this. I
am also pleased to report that we are very near to a
fi nal settlement on our insurance claim for damage
to the property that occurred during the nor’easter
back in March. In addition to a secure (and leak-free) roof on the 01
Building, other necessary claims included fencing, a new pool cover and
building roof fans.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for Saturday, October 20, and Cryder
Point’s annual Halloween Kids’ Parade & Party. (Okay, so it’s called a
“kids’ party,” but grown-ups can dress up too!)
Also keep in mind: Th e next time you go grocery shopping, please pick
up an extra can or two of food. Cryder Point Community Aff airs is again
organizing a Th anksgiving food drive, which is happening next month.
Last year’s drive was a great success and very much appreciated by the two
local food pantries, Grace Episcopal Church and St. Fidelis, who received
our donations. Food collected this year will again go to these very worthy
institutions; please see the fl yer for details.
Till next time, Jill Davis
