Pool Party 2017: What a BLAST!
BY JILL DAVIS
“Fantastic!” “What a great time!” “Even
better than last year!”
That’s just some of the feedback from
folks who attended the Cryder Point adult
pool party on Saturday, July 15.
Over 165 people were there this year,
far surpassing the turnout at last year’s soiree.
And this year, you didn’t have to be a
pool member to sign up, which made this
a real Cryder Point Community affair.
All the stars seemed to align to make
this one super-special event. First of all,
we know we can’t control the weather,
and things looked a little gray during
the day. But you’d think someone had
placed a special order for the evening:
“We’ll have one balmy summer night,
please, with a soft northerly breeze on the
side. And hold the humidity, thank you.”
Delivered!
Of course it’s not a party unless people
get in the spirit, and they sure did. Elite
signed up a terrific DJ for us, Andy, who
got the party started at 6:00. Throughout
the night, he played a mix of everything
from Sinatra to Santana, and he knew
just when to keep the music mellow and
when to get the crowd up and on their
feet dancing.
Elite, along with the help of our great
Cryder Point staff, also did a great job
of setting up the tables, all strategically
placed so that everyone had a great view
of the bridge when people sat for a bite
to eat or took a breather from boogying.
Pool manager Shaun led his team from
beginning to end, and all of them were,
as always, on top of everything and very
accommodating to everyone.
The bash wound down at about 11:00
with Andy playing, appropriately, Donna
Summer’s “Last Dance.” Based on the terrific
time everyone had though, it’s certain
that it was far from the last dance at
Cryder Point!
What a great backdrop for a great night!
