FEBRUARY 6
BY JILL DAVIS
We received a boatload of
photos this month—in fact,
too many to include all of them
in this issue! Look for more in
March’s edition.
The cover photo of the paper is
February’s Photo of the Month,
taken by Sal Gambelunghi one
cold and crystal clear night in
December. Thanks Sal, it’s a
beauty!
Denise Demby’s photo gives
us a rare mirror image of the
bridge, proving again that timing
is everything to catch these
great pictures. Speaking of rare,
you may be puzzled by Michael
Goode’s photo; he explained that
it was actually a piece of spiral
ice dangling from his balcony
railing. He did a little research
on the phenomenon and found
that “it’s a very rare and strange
event.” Indeed it is!
Joe Hollander’s photo of the
bridge welcomed in the New
Year with a full moon, while
Marsha Gellert spotted some of
our feathered friends hanging
around the pool (maskless!).
Marsha also managed to sneak in
a photo of the results of the February
1 snowstorm just in time
for the paper’s deadline…way to
go, Marsha! Rob Cohen’s photos
give us a truly eye-level perspective
of our pier, beach and the
bridge, something we don’t see
every day.
Thanks to all our contributors
and as always, everyone is encouraged
to keep their phones
handy—you never know what
you might see!
A reminder about the contest
rules:
The photographer must be a
resident of Cryder Point, and all
photos must of the property or of
a view from the property. They
also must be current, that is,
taken no more than a couple of
months before you submit them.
Any description of where you
were on the property, the day of
week or time of day…any details
that you can provide which bring
your neighbors into the moment
of the photo…are eagerly welcomed.
Submit your pictures to jdavis@
qns.com and yours might
be selected to be featured in the
paper. Please be sure to put “Cryder
Point Photo” in the subject
line of your email and include
the full name of the photographer
and an approximate date of
the picture.
