AGRA: Authentic Modern Indian Cuisine
BY HELENE OELERICH
Located just off Bell Blvd. in Bayside, the Indian cuisine at AGRA
has both quality and quantity of affordable, delicious food. You can
order appetizers, soups and salads, as well as lamb, beef and seafood
entrees. Plus, AGRA offers tons of vegan options.
This lovely, clean neighborhood restaurant offers a special business
lunch from 12:00 Noon to 3:30 PM, Monday through Saturday, with
a choice of beef, chicken, keema (minced beef) or vegetable curry for
$7.95. You can also order shrimp, fish or lamb curry, and all of the entrees
are served with Basmati rice, Dhal (lentils) and cabbage for $8.95.
My husband’s favorite is the Kathi Roll: a fresh Indian bread wrap with
your choice of chicken, beef or paneer (cheese). Seasoned with fresh
herbs and spices, green-pepper, onions and coriander, it costs $6.95.
There are so many choices, be sure to check out agrarestaurantnyc.
com to see the whole menu. AGRA is located at 213-35 39th Ave
(between Corporal Stone Street & Bell Blvd.). Telephone 516-307-
AGRA or 718-225-1201 for a reservation (takeout is also available).
Hours are Monday through Sunday from 12:00 Noon to 11:00 PM.
P.S. The servers are also extremely kind and polite!

Congratulations to this month’s Photo of the Month
winner, John DuCroiset, and thanks to Eileen Annechino,
Marsha Gellert, Joe Hollander, and Elsa Lorenzo for their
terrific pictures.
I have a confession to make…based on the few submissions
there have been in the past couple of months, I only
allotted a half-page for this month’s feature. Turned out
there were more great pictures than there was room for,
so you’ll be seeing some of the others in upcoming issues.
Please don’t interpret that to mean you shouldn’t bother!
Au contraire! Please keep your phone or camera handy, because
you never know when you’ll catch a special moment!
A reminder about the contest rules:
The photographer must be a resident of Cryder Point,
and all photos must of the property or of a view from the
property. They also must be current, that is, taken no more
than a couple of months before you submit them. Any details
that you can provide which bring your neighbors into
the moment of the photo are eagerly welcomed.
Submit your pictures to jdavis@qns.com and yours
might be selected to be featured in the paper. Please be
sure to put “Cryder Point Photo” in the subject line of your
email and include the full name of the photographer and
an approximate date of the picture. Even under a cloudy sky, the bridge still shines!
