Jamaican middle-order batsman,
Jermaine Blackwood has topped West
Indies batting averages for a second
straight tour, the only specialist Caribbean
player to emerge unscathed
from the miserable two-Test series
against New Zealand.
The 29-year-old scored 216 runs
at an average of 54 and was the only
real bright spot as West Indies lost
both Tests inside four days by an
innings.
Blackwood, an attacking righthander,
was the sole West Indies
batsman to pass 200 runs with the
next being opener John Campbell
with 110 runs.
Blackwood’s 104 in the second
innings of the opening Test in Hamilton
was the only time a West Indies
batsman saw triple figures in the

Legendary West Indies fast bowler
Sir Andy Roberts believes there needs
to be more accountability at all levels of
West Indies cricket if the team is to turn
around its fortunes.
In a recent interview on the “Mason
and Guest” radio cricket show on the
Voice of Barbados, Sir Andy was adamant
that fewer reasons were needed
to justify the current performances

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has given
the green light for the West Indies
men’s tour of Bangladesh next month,
their third series amid the ongoing global
COVID-19 pandemic.
This follows a report by a CWI inspection
team, which traveled to the Asian
country last month to conduct a review
of the facilities and health protocols.
In the draft itinerary released last
week, West Indies will face the hosts
in two Tests, which will be preceded by
three One-Day Internationals.
The tour runs from Jan. 18 to Feb.
15 with the Caribbean side arriving on
Jan. 10.
Three Tests were originally scheduled
but CWI President, Ricky Skerritt,
