Saturday, Oct.16. Pregame & Politics
Hosted in Partnership with Girl and the
Gov, thedownballot, & Political Content
Creator, Carla Davis Description:
The Details: The pregame didn’t start
’til we walked in, and neither did the
politics, which is why Girl and the Gov,
thedownballot, and political content
creator Carla Davis have teamed up to
host an event that brings pregaming
and politics together (and who said we
couldn’t unify strangers in 2021?). An
uncommon pairing, the event bridges
pregaming and politics together to create
an approachable and relatable format
for learning about politics today.
Designed to engage the ever-important
younger voting bank that is millennials
and Gen-Z, the event is geared
towards rebranding politics to be less
taboo, and more for you, me, and everyone
else. The event specifically includes
a round-house of politically-oriented
drinking games, a panel inclusive of
young NY candidates, and Instagrammable/
TikTok-able moments galore,
more. The Panel: The panel, which
will be moderated by Skye Ostreicher,
PoliticsNY.com’s PoliticsNY with Skye,
will be a focused conversation with
young NY candidates (including Brittany
Ramos DeBarros, Ashmi Sheth,
Jennifer Gutiérrez, Democratic Nominee
for NY City Council District 34),
diving into their experience thus far on
what it’s like to be young, fun, and run.
The discussion will move across the
positives, the negatives, and also the ‘I
wish I had knowns,’ providing attendees
with insights into the process and to
take with them should they consider a
run for public office. Date: Oct.16, 2021
Time: 2:00-4:00pm EST Location: The
Back Garden at Emblem: 187 Graham
Avenue, New York, NY 11206 Important
Details: Tickets are nonrefundable. No
exceptions. Must be 21+ to attend the
event. Must show proof of vaccination
to enter the event. Those without proof
of vaccination will be turned away at the
door. Masks are optional on premises.
