Bena Homecare Agency Inc., opened
its new office, which is locate at 116-07
Liberty Ave., co-named Little Guyana, in
Richmond Hill, Queens, after a celebratory
ribbon-cutting on July 30.
Bena Angelini, a businesswoman, who
worked diligently to realize her American
dream after migrating from Jacob and
Esau, a small village in Michony Creek on
the East Coast of Demerara, in Guyana,
was applauded for her entrepreneurial
spirit, during the festivities, attended by
elected officials.
“Congratulations to our Bena,” said
Council Member Adrienne Adams of
District 28. “This community is great
because of people like you, who continue
to give their best of service to District
28,” said Adams, calling Angelini a staple
in the community.
“We are proud of what you have done,
and continue to do,” said Adams, who
lauded the businesswoman for outgrowing
a smaller space where she started
out over ten years ago, to a new spacious
environment, for the benefit of the community.
“Thank you for supporting me, and
opening your door to me, you have
been a sister in this journey of service,”
stated Adams, who presented a New
York City Council Citation, that complimented
Angelini for her lifetime of philanthropy
and community service, and,
an esteemed citizen in New York.
Assemblywoman Jennifer Rajkumar,
the first South Asian Hindu woman
elected to serve in District 38 also, presented
Angelini with a citation, commending
her as an Indo-Caribbean
American businesswoman who will
continue to thrive on “Little Guyana
Avenue.
“She represents the best of our community,
and our new power through her
dedication and entrepreneurial spirit.
She’s been helping during the pandemic,
making sure health needs are met. I will
be with you every step of the way said
Rajkumar, who thanked Angelini for her
exemplary home care services carried
out in the Bronx, Kings County, Queens
New York and Richmond Counties.
