Left-hander Darren Bravo struck
his first One-Day International hundred
in five years to propel West
Indies to a comfortable five-wicket
win over Sri Lanka and a clean sweep
of the three-match series at the Sir
Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium in
Antigua on Sunday.
The 32-year-old top-scored with
102 off 132 deliveries while responsible
opener Shai Hope struck 64 off
72 balls and captain Kieron Pollard
scored an unbeaten 52 off 42 deliveries,
as West Indies reached their
target of 275 with nine deliveries to
spare.
Bravo had gone 13 innings without
a half-century, during which
time he averaged a paltry 18, but his
fourth ODI century saw him turned
his fortunes around on that depressing
run of form as he struck five

Holder axed

All-rounder Jason Holder has been
axed as captain of the West Indies
team for the two-Test series against
Sri Lanka starting next week at the
Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium in
Antigua.
He was replaced by compatriot Kraigg
Brathwaite, who was named captain of
a weakened West Indies team, which
whitewashed Bangladesh in a twomatch
series, to win their first Test
series on Asian soil in nearly a decade.

Hope joins
elite group

West Indies opening batsman, Shai
Hope wrote his name in the history
books with an excellent century as he
marked a magnificent return to the
One-Day International (ODI) stage.
He made a polished 110 off 113 balls
and guided the West Indies to a resounding
victory in the opening match recently,
which snapped their five-game losing
streak against Sri Lanka.
This was his 10th hundred and he
has joined an elite group of West Indian
to reach this milestone joining; Chris
Gayle (25), Brian Lara (19), Desmond
Haynes (17), Sir Gordon Greenidge
