Grammy award-winning artist
Shaggy is hoping that his upcoming
album, “Christmas in the
Islands,” will help bring joy to people,
despite the effect the coronavirus
(COVID-19) pandemic is having
on the world.
Featuring artists like Neo-Yo,
Ding Dong and Joss Stone, he told
the British Broadcasting Corporation
(BBC) that it is “more of a
dancing Christmas album rather
than one featuring Christmas carols.”
“It puts you through a mood, a
roller coaster ride of holiday emotions,”
Shaggy said. “So, there are
party ones, there are a couple of
classic ones — I’ll be home for
Christmas, done reggae style.”
Shaggy, whose real name is
Orville Richard Burrell, is known
for a series of hits, including “It
Wasn’t Me,” “Boombastic” and “Oh
Carolina.”
In June 2019, the Washington,
D.C.-based Institute for Caribbean
Studies (ICS) added the Jamaican
musician, singer, DJ and actor into
its “Wall of Fame.”

“Nyahbinghi Christmas” is the latest
body of work from the legendary Jamaican
saxophonist Dean Fraser, as he
looks to treat music lovers in different
parts of the world to amazing sounds as
the yuletide season draws near, according
to Destine Media.
It said “Nyahbinghi Christmas is set
for official release on Nov. 20, with Fraser
teaming up with Tad Dawkins, Jr., of
Tads Records, to deliver 16 Christmas

With music in his DNA, Yohan Marley
has released a new single, “Breckell,”
as he looks to write another chapter in
Jamaican music with his foray into reggae
inspired music with a global fusion.
According to Destine Media, “Brickell
(When Tears Fall),” was done in collaboration
with Yohan’s brother, Jo Mersa
Marley.
“The talented lineage delivers a modern
R&B/Pop infused single capturing
the feel of South Miami’s city lights,
street and vibrant culture in particular
in the famous ‘Brickell’ Downtown
center,” Destine Media said.
