Powerhouse India ended West
Indies ICC 2019 World Cup dream
with a crushing defeat by 125 runs at
Old Trafford last Thursday (June 25).
Entering the contest already with
little hope of qualifying for the final
four, the regional team’s demise was
confirmed when they failed to chase
down a modest 269 and were all out
for an embarrassing 143 in the 35th
over, suffering their third heaviest
defeat in a World Cup.
The loss was their fifth in seven
matches and left them eight in the
standings on three points, only above
South Africa and Afghanistan, with
two games remaining.
With two matches left, the
Windies will be contesting purely for
pride when they face Sri Lanka and
Afghanistan this week.

The Reggae Girlz are out of the FIFA
Women’s World Cup 2019 competition
but despite the early departure the
players and their Caribbean fans are
cherishing the 49th minute in this final
game with Australia.
The Jamaican newcomers to World
Cup - whose qualification for this 2019
competition in France marked the first
time that a Caribbean girls team has
reached the finals of this prestigious
tournament - exited Tuesday when they
lost to Australia 1-4.

The USA kicked Trinidad and
Tobago Soca Warriors out of the 2019
CONCACAF Gold Cup Group stage.
The Americans exacted revenge of for
the Oct.10, 2017 2-1 win T&T earned
over the US men’s team that out paid
to their 2018 Russia FIFA World Cup
participation.
It was T&T’s second biggest ever loss
in international football when they were
drubbed 6.0 by the USA in Cleveland,
USA on Saturday night (June 22).
This was the last in the seventh
