AOC ‘Courage to Change PAC’ endorses Beckford

City Council Candidate
Anthony Beckford said on
Wednesday that he’s received
the major endorsement of Progressive
Democrat Congresswoman
Alexandria Ocasio
Cortez (AOC) and her organization,
“Courage to Change
PAC.”
Beckford, the son of Jamaican
immigrants, is contesting
the 45th Council District, currently
represented by Haitian
American Council Member
Farah N. Louis.
The district comprises the
Brooklyn neighborhoods of
Flatbush, East Flatbush, Midwood,
Marine Park, Kensington
and Flatlands.
Beckford, a community
activist and US Marine Corps
veteran, said AOC created the
PAC to help support progressive
candidates, “who have shown
great leadership in the community

PAC,’” Beckford said. “The work
that I do for the community
has always been consistent and
selfless.
“As the next City Council
Member of the 45th District, I
am ready to introduce muchneeded
legislation, like my
‘Housing Justice Plan’ within
my first 60 days in office to
bring true affordable housing
to the community and to
the rest of New York City,” he
added.
Beckford said his “Housing
Justice Plan”, will provide rent
rollbacks for tenants, property
tax rollbacks for homeowners

release his “Recovery Plan” for
District 45, “which will revive
