Barron is the husband of the

served 12 years in the Council,
where he served as chair of
the Committee on HIgher
Education. He is currently serving his sixth year
in the New York State Assembly, where he serves
on committees including Health, Housing,
Energy and Aging. He plans to address poverty,

Florentino is a parent,

leader who says he’s dedicated

Lucas is a 40-year resident
of Starrett City and the
founder and president of The
People First Democratic Club.
As a founding member of
the Coalition to Save NYCHA, Lucas says her
number one priority is homelessness in the

shelters into permanent housing for families in

Beckford is a single father,
community leader, veteran and
the president of Black Lives
Matter Brooklyn. Beckford, a
son of immigrant parents, is

County Committee. If elected, he pledges to
address gun violence in the district, and advocate
for immigration services and affordable housing.

Cyril Joseph
Joseph is the retired director
of the Umoja Community
Garden and a 25-year veteran of
Community Board 4. In his past
roles, he has helped to get the
Q24 bus route restored and advocated on behalf
of small businesses to create an inclusive BID. If
elected, he pledges to provide sustainable housing

immigrant parents, Louis
identifies as a young progressive
who, through her parents’ experience and
example, became a community organizer to push
back against sexism, racism, and xenophobia. If

Newton believes District
