West Indies Captain, Jason Holder
has insisted that no player would be
forced to tour England for the proposed
three-Test series in July if they
do not feel safe in doing so.
However, he has admitted the tour
of England will represent an opportunity
for players “to actually make
some money.”
While cricket boards have admitted
throughout the COVID-19 crisis
that they need to return to play soon
as possible to in order to bring in
TV revenue, few players have spoken
about their own need to earn some
money.
Speaking on the BBC’s “Tuffers
and Vaughan show” show in London,
Holder said the tour would allow
for “everybody getting back into the
workforce.”

CWI crisis

The coronavirus pandemic has left
the financial health of Cricket West
Indies (CWI) in a state of ICU (Intense
Care Unit), according to CWI President,
Ricky Skerritt.
The board recently commissioned a
committee to look at ways of coming
through the crisis and also to recommend
best practices moving forward on
how the board can survive financially.

Cameron requests
copy of PKF audit

Former West Indies Cricket West
Indies (CWI) President, Dave Cameron
has sent a legal letter to the board seeking
a copy of the PKF report that was
done on behalf of CWI last year.
After Cameron demitted office, the
new board under President Ricky Skerritt
commissioned PKF to look at the
board’s finances and what can be done
to bring the regional body into a better
financial position, PKF came back with
recommendations on which the board
is in the process of implementing.
Cameron’s attorneys have since sent
a legal letter to CWI asking for a copy
of the report.
The former CWI president said he
was being asked to respond to a report
without access to the actual report.
