Olympian, Nzingha Prescod has been
in the vanguard of legislation introduced
in the City Council for the
establishment of the Mayor’s Office of
Sports, Wellness and Recreation.
On April 21, Council Member
Ydanis Rodriguez held a press conference,
alongside Borough President
Eric Adams, Office of the Public
Advocate Jumaane Williams and a
coalition of leaders in the New York
City sports community, to discuss
the details of Intro 1959, establishing
the Office.

Trinidad and Tobago Knight Riders
(TTKR) all-rounder DJ Dwayne Bravo
has left the defending champions to
take on new challenges with the St.
Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the upcoming
2021 Caribbean Premier League
(CPL) in August.
TTKR announced last week that
Bravo was traded to the Patriots in
exchange for Denesh Ramdin, while
Sunil Narine was named vice-captain
with skipper Kieron Pollard staying at
the helm.

CPL 2021 in
St. Kitts

The Hero Caribbean Premier League
(CPL) has been given the green light for
the 2021 edition of the tournament to
be played in its entirety at Warner Park,
St. Kitts from Aug. 28 with fans finally
being allowed back in the stadium.
The CPL hosted in a “bio-secure’ bubble
and behind closed doors in Trinidad
with the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR)
creating history with an unbeaten fifth
title.
Players were also restricted to the
bio-secure bubble in Trinidad & Tobago,
but this year things will be different
with CPL putting itself on course
towards having the first fully cricket
tournament during the Covid-19 pandemic.
