New York’s most popular borough
for innovators and artists is Brooklyn, a
bastion of creative freedom and underground
cool, according to Marie Driven,
the Brooklyn-based Haitian American
entertainment publicist.
“By default, the strategy of standing
out has helped to establish the neighborhood
as a naturally vibrant scene for
businesses to thrive,” Driven, managing
partner of PlaybookMG, a premier
entertainment publicity company in
Brooklyn, told Caribbean Life over the
weekend.
“The non-profit BK Style Foundation
has nurtured the Brooklyn style and
designed ecosystem since 2006, and, 16
years later, Fashion Week Brooklyn continues
to bridge fashion and the community,”
she added.
“Fashion Week Brooklyn brought
back the essence of fashion night out,”

The Brooklyn-based cultural and educational
group, Tropicalfete, will, in June,
Caribbean Heritage Month, feature firsttime
author, Elizabeth “Lady” Montano,
who has penned a biography about her
son, soca superstar Machel Montano, aptly
titled “King of Soca.”
Alton Aimable, Tropicalfete’s St. Lucianborn
founder and president, told Caribbean
Life that “King of Soca” will be featured
during the group’s annual Authors

On March 18, 2022, Jamaican recording
artist I-Octane released his much-anticipated
fifth studio album, “I am Great,” produced by
renowned billboard charting producer, Troy
“Troyton Music” Hinds.
This past Friday, the prolific artist released
on his official channel, the poignant visuals
for “So Sorry” (https://youtu.be/gwgTlylmY_I),
the lead single from the 15th track, “I am
Great,” upcoming-album.
The video, directed by coveted videographer
Christopher “IceyJays” Campbell, was
filmed in Miami and depicts a “vulnerable”
I-Octane.
“This song means a lot to me, and it’s
coming from a deep place for many reasons,”
