West Indies Women lost the
fourth One-Day International
(ODI) against South Africa by
six wickets to give the home
team a 2-1 win in the four-match
series at the Wanderers on Sunday,
Feb. 7, 2022.
The opening match on Jan. 28
was abandoned due to rain.
West Indies Women were without
captain Stafanie Taylor and
Chedean Natasha Nation in the
final match due to injuries.
West Indies Women won the
toss and elected to bat first in
the fourth ODI.
Deandra Dottin looked in
great form from early, smashing
three fours and a six on her way
to 36, before she was caught by
Dune Lulus.

International umpire Jacqueline
Williams entrenched herself in history
when she became the first female
umpire to feature in an ICC Under-19
World Cup.
The Jamaican served as the fourth
official in the match between India and
England at the Vivian Richards Cricket
Stadium recently, where the on-field
umpires were Ronald Black of Ireland
and Asif Yaqoob of Pakistan, with Rashid
Riaz of Pakistan as the television
umpire.

The West Indies team suffered its
first-ever series whitewash to India on
the sub-continent to a 96-run defeat in
the third One-Day International (ODI)
in Ahmedabad, India, last Friday.
Asked to chase 266 at the Narendra
Modi Stadium, West Indies were dismissed
for 169 in the 38th over, failing
to pass 200 yet again for the series
following totals of 176 in the opener
and 193 in the second game a few days
later.
Number nine Odean Smith topscored
with a dashing 18-ball 36, while
captain Nicholas Pooran got 34 and
number eight Alzarri Joseph made 29,
but no other batsman passed 20 as
