West Indies clinches T20 series against England

West Indies won the three-match
T20 series (3-2) in the final match
against England at the Kensington
Oval in Barbados on Sunday. All five
matches were played at the same
venue before a large English cricket
fans.
A “beaver-trick” (4 wickets for no
runs) from fast bowler Jason Holder
sealed the victory by 17 runs in the
final match.
Holder became the first West Indies
bowler to take a T20 hat-trick and the
fourth-ever bowler to take four wickets
in four balls, as England chasing
a victory target of 180, slipped from
162/6, with five deliveries remaining,
to 162 all out. He ended with five
wickets for five for 27 off 2.5 overs.
The West Indies team, which decided
to bat first after Captain Kieron
Pollard won the toss, posted 179/4 off
their allotted 20 overs with the captain
leading the way with 41 not out
(25 balls, two sixes and a four) while
Rovman Powell shared an unbroken

sixth wicket stand of 74 in 5.2 overs.
Opener Brandon King contributed
34, while fellow opener Kyle Myers 31
and Nicholas Pooran 21.
Leg-spinner Adil Rashid and fellow
leg-spinner Liam Livingstone had
identical figures of 2/17 for England.
The West Indies head to India this
week for a three-match ODI series
and a three-match T20 series.

19 World Cup campaign and has also
been attached to the coaching staff of
the Guyana Jaguars in the first-class

He retired from international cricket
several years ago after playing 164 Tests
and 264 One-Day Internationals at 41.
Sir Curtly, meanwhile, has in the
past served as a West Indies assistant
coach, on the coaching staff of
the Combined Campuses and Colleges
and is currently attached to the Rising
Stars.
The Antiguan snatched 405 wickets
in 98 Tests and 225 wickets from 176
ODIs.
Indies bowler, with Akeal Hosein the
next best (33rd) and left-arm spinner,
despite taking only two wickets in
the two games.
Opener Evin Lewis, who has
missed the last two series, remains
the highest-ranked West Indies batsman,
but has dropped two places to
17th while Nicholas Pooran has risen
one spot to 26th.

recalled for the three-match series in

Bonner has played only three
ODIs all coming away to Bangladesh
last year when West Indies fielded a
weakened side, while King played his

in the squad, alongside Jason
Holder, Alzarri Joseph, Odean Smith,
and Romario Sheppard.
