What are we?
Community High School is a free public charter school opening in
Downtown Brooklyn in the summer of 2022 as part of Beginning
with Children (BwC), a small but mighty network of public K-12
charter schools and a college success program founded in 1992.
Who am I?
My name is Esosa Ogbahon, and I am the founding principal of
Community High School. I was also the founding principal of
Beginning with Children Charter School 2, and have worked the
past 20 years as a teacher and leader in Brooklyn.
What’s next?
At Community High School, we are building upon the successes
of our 30 years in education to create a new and better high
school option. Together, we're moving our community in the right
direction.

Launch’s vision of success is to operate schools where every child and every
family is known well and cared for, and every student develops both their
intellect and their character in order to achieve more than they thought
possible.
Launch is an EL Education school dedicated to putting students at the center of
their learning. We believe in equity-driven teaching which means:
• having high expectations for ALL students
• amplifying and celebrating the culture of our students while additionally
teaching them about other cultures
• building a critical consciousness in our students so that they have the
reasoning and analytical skills necessary to analyze real-world situations and
lead beyond our school building
Launch has a restorative justice approach to discipline, which is a
community-based approach to build, repair, and restore relationships. RJ
