NY GIANT AT PS 49 BACKPACK GIVEAWAY
On Tuesday, September 17, UnitedHealthcare, United Way of New York City, Dreambuilders
and New York Giants defensive back/safety Michael Thomas held a backpack giveaway for
all the students at P.S. 49 The Willis Avenue School. A total of 495 backpacks were distributed.
Sponsored by UnitedHealthcare and coordinated by the Dreambuilders Foundation,
the donation is part of United Way of New York City’s ReadNYC initiative to help children in
need be ready for the new school year.

MOUNT ST. URSULA CELEBRATES RENOVATIONS
On Thursday, September 19, the Academy of Mount St. Ursula held an event to thank their
supporters for donating nearly $850,000 to make capital improvements, which were made
over the summer. Renovations included a new gymnasium roof and new windows and blinds
throughout the building to improve insulation, creating a safer school environment and
reduce energy loss.
