BRONX TIMES REPORTER, J BTR UNE 7-13, 2019 41
In Memory Of
Marilyn Arlene Cohen, born
Marilyn Glucksman on June 4,
1930 in the Bronx, was a proud
wife, mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother who lived
each day of her nearly 89 turns
around the sun for her family
and for life’s simple pleasures—a
jumbo word search, a lobster tail,
children’s laughter.
She lived in Brooklyn, Queens,
Indiana and Florida, but never
shed her Bronx accent and would
return to her birth borough for the
last years of her life.
She preferred her lipstick red
and her chocolate milky, and
emanated pure lovingkindness
at every touchpoint in her life, no
matter what the circumstances.
She took her last breath
peacefully surrounded by four
generations of family and the
most caring staff and Sisters at
Providence Rest Nursing Home.
She is survived by her son and
daughter and their spouses, four
grandchildren and their spouses,
and four great-grandchildren.
She will live on in the many lives
she touched and in all she taught
us about compassion, kindness,
and love.
