AFC Rapid Youth Soccer Registration - 2021 SOCCER SEASON

 BRONX TIMES REPORTER, M BTR AY 7-13, 2021 75
 BY GEORGE HAVRANEK
 A respite from the typical
 community commentary is
 replaced by a humble attempt
to pay proper homage to the
 heroic, altruistic women that
sacrifi ce to ensure our families
 and communities prosper.
From all of us at the Spencer
 Estate Civic Association:
 HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY
 There are things in our
 world that transcend unequivocal
 defi nition. Beautiful
 things, avoidant of proper
 articulations; however,
 deeply felt within our hearts
 and rooted within our minds.
A Mother’s love truly fi ts that
 description. The following
 short poem by Rudyard Kipling
 describes the eternal
 and unconditional love of a
 Mother for her child.

 Mother o’ Mine
 Rudyard Kipling, 1865 – 1936
If I were hanged on the
 highest hill, Mother o’ mine,
 O mother o’ mine!
 I know whose love would
 follow me still, Mother o’
 mine, O mother o’ mine!
If I were drowned in the
 deepest sea, Mother o’ mine,
 O mother o’ mine!
 I know whose tears would
come down to me, Mother o’
 mine, O mother o’ mine!
If I were damned of body
 and soul, I know whose
 prayers would make me
 whole, Mother o’ mine, O
 mother o’ mine!

 Mother is the bedrock that
carries the weight of a family.
Mother is the glue that holds
 families together. Mother is
 the dedicated motivator that
 inspires our communities.
Thank you to all the hard
 working mothers. You are
the role models for our future
 leaders and caretakers of our
 communities. Like a Mother’s
 love, our deep affections
 and appreciations for all of
 you transcend words. Thank
 you for caring. Happy Mother’s
 Day to you!

 Community Footnotes:
 A new business is coming
 to our neighborhood: Country
Club Diner and Grill will be
 opening at 3284 Ampere Avenue
 in between Library and
 Bayview Avenues. Dialogue
 with business owner Ed Kelley
 suggests the beginnings
 of a nice neighborly relationship.
  Mr. Kelley is slated to
 make his S.L.A. presentation
to CB 10 on May 4th. We wish
 him the best of luck.
 Spencer Estate Civic Association
 remains optimistic
 about conducting an in
 person May meeting. Details
 will be released once terms
 and conditions are fi nalized.
 Our community has traditionally
 exhibited a “We
 are Family” attitude. Communicate;
  make that phone
 call, text message, or email.
  Please check on family,
  friends, and neighbors
 especially the elderly and
 vulnerable. Any area homeowner
 or renter interested
