4 More Iona Preparatory Scholar-Athletes Commit to Play Collegiate Sports
AFC Soccer Indoor Tournament highlights

BANTAMS:
Bantams held their indoor tournament
at St. Raymond’s HS for Boys.
The morning session was won by Barino’s
Market while second place
would fi nd Cestra’s Pizza. In the afternoon
session, Uncurtain Inc. came
in fi rst place and Spot-on took second
place. This set up the playoffs that afternoon.
Barino’s Market played Spot-On
in the fi rst playoff game with Spot-On
moving to the fi nals. The second playoff
game had Uncurtain Inc. playing
Cestra’s Pizza with Uncurtain Inc.
moving into the fi nals as well.
The fi nals saw Uncurtain Inc. and
Spot-On facing off and Uncurtain
Inc. came away victorious.

Four more Iona Preparatory
School scholar-athletes committed
to playing collegiate sports as part
of the school year’s third National
Signing Day, bringing the school’s
Division I total to 9 players so far this
year, and 22 overall.
“It recognizes and symbolizes all
of your hard work,” Athletic Director
Bernard A. Mahoney said to open the
ceremony. “It also indicates that you
have an opportunity going forward
to play the sport that you love, and
for that, congratulations.”
Iona Prep had a school-record 32
committed scholar-athletes last year.

family in an ESPN-style event, the
