If this year has got you
down, it is advised to go to the
New York Botanical Garden
brand new light show to shine
on those 2020 blues as January
approaches.
Called NYBG Glow, it’s a
nighttime, outdoor experience
which vividly illuminates landmark
grounds along with the
Enid A. Haupt Conservatory
during select evenings this holiday
season.
NYBG boasts that with lots
of room to spread out, “visitors
can explore a glowing world of
color and light”
featuring the conservatory
as Glow’s centerpiece.
That’s along with washes
of brilliant colors, thousands
of dazzling, “energy-effi cient”
LED lights, and what’s been
described as picture-perfect
installations will also fi ll the
visitor center refl ecting pool,
enlivening surrounding gardens
in the process.
As part of the Glow experience,
visitors can too enjoy artistic
ice sculptures; music,
roving dancers who’ve choreographed
an award winning
hip hop Nutcracker remix in addition
to tons more outdoor fun.
The remaining dates for
Glow are: Tuesday, Dec. 28
through Saturday, January 2
and a fi nal night on Saturday,
January 9.
Tickets are limited in efforts
of social distancing and must be
purchased in advance and online
for a specifi c time, according
to NYBG.
General admission is $30 for
adults and $18 for children ages
two to 12, NYBG Members only
$20 for adults and $10 for children.
Another seasonal favorite at
NYBG, the Holiday Train Show
has limited access this year due
to pandemic strain.
That is open only to NYBG
members, patrons, and Bronx
community partners for this
winter season.
To make visitors feel especially
safe during this especially
trying time, NYBG has
implemented the requirement
of staff and visitors over the age
of two to wear face coverings
and has increased sanitization
of public and staff areas.
There are also now daily
health screenings for on-site
staff which intend on supporting
hygiene and more social
distancing practices.
