ArchCare, the Archdiocese of New York’s healthcare system that every day
cares for more than 9,000 seniors, the poor and persons with special needs, celebrated
Grandparents Day. On Sept. 15, ArchCare Senior Life at San Vicente de
Paúl held activities at their facility, including an 80’s-themed dance party; a special
luncheon; and awards of recognition for all participants attending.

food is an important part of gearing
up for back to school, especially this
year. FoodStream’s network brought
us an amazing partnership with The
Legacy Center that helped us send 200
families back to school with ingredients
for healthy meals. We are excited
about the new opportunities the platform
will help us make possible for our
community!”
Other partners that joined in on
the back to school fun included the
New York Public Library, Rethink
Food, Spreading The Love Worldwide,
Osbourne and Frankie’s Carnival.
Food and supplies were available at the
Phipps Neighborhoods back to school event.
On Sept. 10, Phipps Neighborhoods
and P.S. 110 hosted a back to school
homecoming event at their campus, located
at 580 Crotona Park South.
Fun was had by all, with food support
packages from FoodStream Network,
games and music, as well as
backpack and uniforms giveaways.

families to fresh produce,” said Allison

at Phipps Neighborhoods and lead

ArchCare celebrates Grandparents Day
P.S. 110 and Phipps Neighborhoods
host back-to-school event
On Monday, Sept. 13, Preston High
School paid tribute to the 20th anniversary
of the tragic 9/11 attacks in
an outdoor memorial service. The
students, faculty and staff gathered
around the fl agpole to pray and honor
the victims from that fateful day 20
years ago.
To honor those who were affected
within the Preston community, the
names of friends and family members
lost as a result of 9/11 were read aloud,
followed by the lowering of the fl ag to
half-staff and a moment of silence. The
entire school came together for the
fi rst in-person ceremony of the year in
solidarity to commemorate this event.
