KING ATTENDS BOYS & GIRLS CLUB FIELD DAY
The NYC Collaborative of Boys and Girls Clubs held its inaugural Boys and Girls Club Field
Day on Friday, August 2 at Icahn Stadium. Over 3,600 boys and girls club campers across
NYC, with about 1,500 of them coming from the Bronx, participated in a banner parade led
by Councilman Andy King, fun exercise and competitive activities that promote active living
among youth.

MTA BUS REDESIGN NETWORK ON-STREET ENGAGEMENT
The MTA is continuing to collect comments on the bus route redesign from riders in the 13th
Council District. As part of the ‘On-Street’ engagement, they were collecting information
and getting feedback in the Westchester Square area.

DIAZ, SALAMANCA CO-HOST ABRAZO DOMINICANO
Council members Ruben Diaz, Sr. and Rafael Salamanca; George Alvarez and Hector Diaz,
Alltown Car Service president sponsored the Abrazo Dominicano in New York on Friday,
July 26 at Maestro’s Caterers. This year’s honorees were Pedro J. Aguiar, entrepreneur, radio
personality and community leader; Anthony Perez, special assistant to Council Speaker
Corey Johnson; Damian Rodriguez, entrepreneur and president of First Class & Diplo Car
Services; and Dr. Fernando Tavarez, psychiatrist.
