Graduation Event
The Morris Park Business Improvement District held a Graduation Day community event on
June 25 to celebrate the end of another school year. Festivities included free ice cream and
pizza, and graduation photos for all of the Morris Park students who attended.

Korony selects scholarship
essay winners

With Covid keeping many of our
activities at the VA hospital in check
we have accomplished so much
more than we ever could imagine.
The Theodore Korony American
Legion family. Post, Auxiliary and
Sons work together to get things
done. From sending pizzas to the
doctors at the VA, sending over 300
packages to our troops for the holidays,
delivering turkeys with all the
trimmings to Veteran families in
shelters, distributing toys to underprivileged
children in the Bronx to
name just a few accomplishments.
This June 27th was our fi nal
meeting of the summer and we
return in September. Installation of
Offi cers,
Reports on year end accomplishments
as well as updates on year
end events such as our Support The
Troops Bingo which will be held
in September. Scholarship essays
were submitted and read at meeting
honoring a Veteran who was important
to each of them. Recipients read
their essay and received awards.
Five of the six winners were able
to attend June’s meeting so the last
winner will be reading in Septem-

COMMUNITY BOARD 10 SHREDDING EVENT
Community Board 10 and Riverbay Corporation will
host a free shredding event on Saturday, July 10, from
9:30 a.m. to noon, at the Section 5 Greenway near 120
Erskine Place in Co-op City. CB 10 residents can shred
up to three 13-gallon bags of paper only documents
(no binders, clips, etc.).
No pre-registration is necessary.
