
Teen stabs Uber
driver in New Rochelle

Two Bronx males have
been arrested in connection
with the stabbing of an Uber
driver in the city of New Rochelle
on Friday, according
to police.
On July 2, at approximately
2:25 p.m., New Rochelle
police were called to
North Avenue and Huguenot
Street on a report of a stabbing
of an Uber driver.
An Uber driver had picked
up fi ve passengers — three
males and two females — at
New Roc City entertainment
complex in downtown New Rochelle,
police said. A short way
into their trip a verbal argument
took place between the
Uber driver and one of the female
passengers, identifi ed as
a juvenile. According to police,
the driver stopped the Uber to
discharge the passengers but
the dispute became physical
when the other female passenger,
also a juvenile, stabbed the
driver in the two times in the
chest.
The fi ve passengers fl ed on
foot but were detained by police.
Two males were arrested
when police found illegal handguns
in their possession, one of
which was a “ghost gun” with
no serial number and a high-capacity

9mm Keltec handgun and David
Owens, 20, of the Bronx, was
armed with a model P80 “ghost
gun” loaded with a 33 round
high-capacity magazine.
The two females were
charged with assault. The remaining
male was let go by police.
The driver, whose name
has not been identified, was
transported to Jacobi Hospital
with non life-threatening
injuries.
Man cuffed in fatal shooting

A Westchester man was
arrested for allegedly shooting
a man to death and injuring
a woman in the Bronx
this past spring.
According to police, at 6:15
p.m. on April 27 the NYPD
responded to a 911 call regarding
a person shot at East
216 Street and Olinville Avenue.
Upon their arrival, offi
cers found two people that
had been shot: a 27-year-old
woman who was shot once
in the torso, and 39-yearold
Robert Hill, of Madison
Street in Mount Vernon, who
was shot in the chest.
Both victims were rushed
to Montefi ore Medical Center,
where Hill was pronounced

dead. The 27-year-old woman
was listed in stable condition.
On July 5, 41-year-old
Omar Briscoe, of South 10th
Avenue in Mount Vernon,
was arrested in connection to
the shooting. He was charged
with murder, manslaughter,
and criminal possession of a
weapon.

3-alarm fi re on
Coster Street

A fi re erupted within
an apartment complex located
at 717 Coster St. in The
Bronx on Tuesday, when
FNDY responded at around
12:30 p.m. according to fi re
offi cials, the blaze quickly
escalated to a three-alarm
fi re. Thirty-three units of
the Fire Department and
approximately 140 fi refi ghters
were called in to provide
assistance. It took nearly
an hour to get the scene under
control, according to
sources. in total, eight fi refi
ghters suffered minor injuries
while battling the
blaze.
