After an unsuccessful search for a seating piece to fit the room’s arched alcove, Silverman had a daybed custom made by Mennonite craftsmen
in Pennsylvania. The subway clock that hangs above, dated 1901, came with the house, apparently the possession of a former homeowner who
collected clocks.
